Summer Themes for July and August

• July 11^th– 15^th –Stampede Week and Breakfast pancakes, sausage, berries and juice. Please dress your child as cowboys/cowgirls for the week!
• July 18^th – 22^nd– Earth Week: We will be learning about the four Rs: recycle, reduce, reuse, repurpose; how to look after our planet, and how to keep our oceans and lakes clean. We will also be looking at the parts of a fish with Koehler’s dad, Ian. Not only will Koehler’s mum, Jayla, share some cool lessons with us, but we will cook some fish and get to try it! Yummy!
• July 25^th – 29^th – Bears! Including Teddy BearPicnic + Pajama Day(29^th): Pack a favourite teddy bear, bear stories, or art work. We will be fact finding about Alberta’s bears.
• August 1^st – 5^thScience Week: Obleck, crystals with borax (out of harms reach of course – but watching how the crystals form on objects in the solution is always fun) , bubbles!

 August 8^th – 12^th Art Week: splash painting; artwork using nature’s brushes; wax resist painting; tape resist art.

 August 15^th– 19^thStorybook Week:Bring favourite story books to share; share a fun fact about your favouritecharacters; come dressed as a favourite story book character.

We will be doing as much as we can outside, so please pack sun hat, water bottles and sunscreen lotion/spray daily.
